Project Directions
1. The Immigrant Descriptions:
3. Other Required Features
- Use the Galveston Historical Foundation's Immigration Database to find at least three (3) different immigrants to the United States during the years of 1870 and 1920.
- Each of the chosen immigrants must have had a profession that would have been a part of the Gilded Age and come from a foreign country.
- Create a "story" that tells why this person was coming to the United States, where they would be working at (bonus points for accuracy on actual employer in the town they were moving to), and what part this job played in helping the United States in the The Gilded Age. See your Google Classroom for more details.
- Include at the end of your description the page of the search that your immigrant person was found on - NO POINTS WILL BE AWARDED IF THIS IS NOT INCLUDED, IT ALLOWS YOUR PERSON TO BE VERIFIED DURING GRADING.
- The beginning of the routes' lines must be in the general area of the country that the person actually left from.
- The ending of the routes' lines must be in the general area of the destination city given to you in the database.
- The background must be a mostly accurate map of at least Europe and the North America.
3. Other Required Features
- Color code the routes traveled with the immigrant descriptions for visual assistance.
- The final product must either be on a poster board or butcher paper, or be done digitally using ONLY Google Drawing and Google Drive. If you choose to use the digital option, it must be emailed to Mr. Clark @ [email protected]
